100 Feared Trapped After Cable Bridge Collapsed in India.
At least 100 people are feared trapped after a cable bridge collapsed in Morbi, Gujarat, on Sunday evening, local media NDTV reported.
About 500 people were on the bridge when it collapsed, the report said.
ANI news agency reported that several people are feared injured, and a rescue operation is now underway.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear. Reports say about 100 people are still trapped in the water.
According to local media, the bridge opened after it was repaired four days ago.
The Indian Prime Minister visited Morbi immediately and mobilised emergency rescue operations. The government has also announced compensation packages for victims families who got injured or lost their life in the accident.
