Apple inc. has released a security warning to users about discovering a massive security flaw that could enable hackers to control your devices’ operating system, accessing your messages, your location, and even your camera and microphone.

The tech giant says the flaw gives hackers the opportunity to “execute arbitrary code” and is urging users worldwide to update their device’s operating system.

Phones ranging from iPhone 6, iPads, and Mac are affected by this security flaw.

Why You Need to Update Your Phone Right Now

According to a cybersecurity expert in the video shared below, now that the news is viral, all categories of hackers are aware of the existence of this vulnerability in Apple devices and may try to explore such flaws against any user.

This is why you should do it now.

According to experts, the exploit could lead to hackers reading your messages, listening to your conversations, and accessing your banking information.

The implications are that any iPhone user on the internet could fall victim to cyber fraud.

There were two security reports released by Apple on this issue on Wednesday. Their explanation of the vulnerability indicates hackers could get “full admin access” to any Apple device, enabling intruders to impersonate the device’s owner or run software with the owner’s identity.

The report stated that these vulnerabilities had already been exploited by hackers and did not disclose any identity related to its discovery or any affected victims.

Security experts have advised users to update affected devices such as the iPhone6S and later models, iPad models, including the 5th generation and later, all iPad Pro models and the iPad Air 2, and also Mac computers running macOS Monterey.

Recall that Kaspersky released a similar advisory recently about Windows devices.

Most Commercial spyware companies are known for identifying and taking advantage of these kinds of flaws, exploiting them in malware that infects targets’ smartphones, compromises banking information and other personal information, or even monitors the targets in real-time.
