AVRS Honours Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva With Icon Award
An award of recognition has been presented to the veteran couple, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva by The Audio Visual Rights Society of Nigeria (AVRS).
Actress Monalisa Chinda, a member of the board of directors disclosed this in an Instagram post on Wednesday, where she posted a video of AVRS chairman Mahmood Ali-Balogun presenting the icon award to the couple at the Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos.
“That moment when I felt a stirring surge of emotions when we all (the board of directors of AVRS) Audio Visual Rights Society handed an award of Honors to Uncle Olu Jacobs and Aunty Joke Jacobs at the Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island.
“It was beautiful.. God bless Uncle Olu …many more years to come Sir. @avrsnigeria our chairman @mahmoodalibalogun God bless you for all you do sir!”
Veteran actors Ejike Asiegbu and Yomi Solade were also present at the award presentation.
Olu Jacobs received lifetime achievement awards at the 2021 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF). Joke Silva also congratulated him on the feat.
The veteran actor turned 80 on July 11, 2022
