Bishop Rejects Governor Ben Ayade’s N25M Donation, Tells Him, “Use whatever you want to give to me to pay salaries”(Video).
A video of a church’s Bishop telling Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River state to use the money he intends to donate to his church to pay the salaries of civil servants in the state has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the governor is seen inside a church making a speech that culminated in the end with making a donation of N25 million to the church.
He announced this donation on behalf of “the people of the state, the state government, his family, Chief Justice of Nigeria, and the entire judiciary,”.
In the video, the governor could be heard praising the Bishop as the “Pride of Northern Cross River state”.
However, the highlight of the program to the shock of watchers was when the Bishop took the microphone from the MC of the program and then after thanking him for the gift, went on to tell the Governor to use whatever he wanted to give him to pay salaries.
The Bishop said, “I want to thank my amiable Governor. He is my brother. We are from the same part of the state. We will whisper to him later, whatever he wants to give to me, let him put that package together and pay salaries,”.
Members of his congregation cheered the move by their Bishop.
