Citizen ‘Arrests’ Lagos LASTMA Truck For One-Way Traffic Violation.
A Nigerian citizen driving on Lagos’s third mainland bridge ‘arrested’ a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Hilux truck in violation of road traffic on the third mainland bridge.
In a video posted on his Twitter handle, Adedapo @Dagbofather was seen reporting the incident live on the bridgehead where he stationed his own vehicle, a Toyota Camry in front of the LASTMA truck, stopping it from driving against the traffic flow.
Recall that On Thursday, the Lagos State Government auctioned cars seized from road users who committed road traffic offenses. Reacting to the incident, Adedapo wrote,

The Lagos state Public Relations Officer has reacted to a retweet of the incident saying the police will commence an investigation into the traffic violation by LASTMA, encouraging citizens to arrest and call out officials who behave unprofessionally or harass citizens.
“Citizen arrest + invective = good job; Police arrest + invective = harassment, unprofessionalism. Double standards, I guess. While we commence investigation into this, please call out”
