The slain IEBC Embakasi East Returning Officer in the aftermath of the Kenyan presidential elections was strangled and his neck badly injured, the autopsy report reveals.

Two days after his body was found, an autopsy was carried out at Oloitokitok Sub-County Hospital on Wednesday. According to the autopsy report, his body had neither gunshot wounds nor scars.

In a statement released on Wednesday evening, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission where he was working at the time of his abduction and subsequent murder, chairman Wafula Chebukati said Musyoka was killed for doing the right thing.

“He was a well-trained officer who performed his duty with utmost honesty, integrity and dedication. It is unfortunate that his stand to do the right thing cost his life,” Chebukati eulogized the deceased IEBC staff.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has called on the government to bring to book the killers.

Further reports said the killers tortured him before eventually strangling him to death. The family described him as a man of the people, someone who is not known to have any enemy, therefore questioning the motive of the killers.
