This is coming days after the singer had shared a video on his Instagram page stating why he cannot be part of the ‘obidient’ movement.

Femi had equated the word, “Obidients” to the true meaning of the English word, Obedience, as a kind of subservience to the status quo.

His statement sparked a reaction online, from the camp of “Obidient” Movement, insisting the Afrobeat singer was clearly misrepresenting  the “Obidient” Movement and what it stands for.

Members of the opposition parties online went to town mocking the “Obidients”, that the Afrobeat superstar had called the supporters of Mr. Peter Obi, “zombies”.

But Femi has come out to clear the air, making another video to that effect.

The “Obidient” movement is an adaptation from Mr. Peter Obi’s surname, Obi, which in its use refer to “Obi-dients” as persons who subscribe to Peter Obi’s political ideology and principles, different from the word Obedience.

But to Femi, based on his family’s history, the oppression his family has endured from the Nigerian establishment, he can never be obedient to the establishment.

Femi said,

“I’m too angry, I’m too depressed to be obedient. How can anybody come up with that term,”.

He added,

“How can you be obedient? Me? I can’t be obedient in this country. ENDSARS, killings, my grandmother was killed, my father’s house burnt,”.
