Immigrant Taxi Driver Beaten to Death in New York City Sparks Reactions(Video).
A 52-year-old Ghanaian taxi driver died from blows when he was attacked by rogue passengers in a suburb of New York City in the United States of America.
The victim, Gyimah Kutin was said to be dropping off five passengers consisting of two females and three males at Beach 54th Street and Arverne Boulevard in the Rockaways when the situation turned violent on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
The passengers alighted and refused to pay Gyimah for his services, so he ran after them. According to reports, the suspects turned against him with one member of the group throwing a punch which sent Gyimah falling to the ground, cracking his skull.
The suspects attempted to rob him but later fled the scene while the police recovered his body.

News of his death is said to have sparked outrage and anger within the Ghanaian community in New York and the New York Federation of Taxi Drivers who have offered a $15,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Abigail Gyimah, wife of the deceased has described her husband’s death as a great loss.
“He was a good, good man,” she said. “He was my backbone. I’m lost right now. “My children’s hero,” Abigail wailed, unable to contain the flow of tears.
Gyimah Kutin left behind four kids, aged between 3 and 8 years.
