Suspected ritualists on Wednesday at the wee hours beheaded a 37 years old Man, Anthony Egbo, by the gate of the Living Faith Church located at Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government area of Bayelsa State.

Over three people have been killed in the past month, in the same manner with machetes on the neck of the victims.

The deceased, Anthony Egbo was a security personnel attached to the church and an indigene of the Elebele community.

The Assistant Pastor of the Church and other residents woke to discover the mutilated corpse of the victim, with his head severed from his body and his throat missing.

The Youth President of the Elebele Community, Famous Egbo, confirmed that the corpse of the deceased was discovered at about 5.50 am.

“When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing. People suspected that it may be a ritual killing.”

Also reacting, the Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the killing but insisted that the report from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kolo community, stated that “the attack was at the head region and his throat was slit.”

In another development, an unidentified vandal was electrocuted to death yesterday along the Osiri area of Yenagoa, the State capital.

The roasted corpse of the power line vandal was discovered early on Wednesday morning hanging on the electric pole after electrocution.

A resident of the area, Pereko Stanley, said the vandal had cut one of the armored cables but was unfortunate on the second trip when power was suddenly restored and he was electrocuted.
