NDDC Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship 2023-2024: Unleash Your Potential Abroad.
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is proud to offer Master’s and Ph.D. scholarships to Nigerian students from the Niger Delta region who aspire to study abroad.
As part of our commitment to Human Resource Development, the NDDC has initiated the 2023 Post-Graduate Foreign Scholarship Programme.
This program aims to equip Niger Deltans with the necessary training and skills to actively engage in the Federal Government’s Local Content program and excel in various professional fields on a global scale.
Key Program Requirements
Academic Excellence
For Master’s Degree: A first degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized university.
For Ph.D. Candidates: A good Master’s Degree from a recognized university.
Foreign University Admission
Applicants must have gained admission to a Post Graduate Program in one of the listed disciplines at a foreign university.
Eligibility Status
Applicants already enrolled in overseas universities are NOT eligible to apply.
Guarantor’s Consent
Provide a written consent of good conduct from a guarantor.
Acceptable guarantors include:
- Member of National Assembly/State House of Assembly
- Chairman of the Local Government Area
- First Class Traditional Ruler
- High Court Judge
Clean Record
Applicants with evidence of cult membership or criminal records will not be considered for the award.
National Youth Service: Completion of the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) is mandatory.
State of Origin
Applicants must be indigenes of Niger Delta states in Nigeria, including Akwa-Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Cross River State, Delta State, Edo State, and Rivers State.
Rigorous Selection Process
Candidates will undergo a rigorous selection process, including preliminary shortlisting, a computer-based test in Rivers State, and final verification through respective Local Government Areas and Community Development Committees. The scholarship amount will be determined based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira.

- Local Government Identification Letter
- Post Graduate admission letter from a recognized Overseas University
- Relevant degrees from recognized Universities
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate
Method of Application
To begin your application, visit the NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng) and complete the online application form with all the required documents. A registration number will be automatically assigned to successfully completed application forms. Be sure to print the hard copy of the online-generated acknowledgment for future reference.
