NDLEA has uncovered a crystal-METH Lab in VGC Lagos. An internal memo making the rounds released by a high-end popular Estate in the Lekki area of Lagos reveals that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA on Saturday, July 30, burst a hard drug-making laboratory in the estate.
It happened that men of the NDLEA who had placed one of the suspects on their wanted list since 2017 carried out a raid on a building in the popular VGC estate and discovered the METH(methamphetamine) laboratory on the property.
Two suspects, the couple, Emeka Nzewi, and his wife, were arrested in the apartment located at K-5A/2, Road 14, VGC, according to the internal memo.
The memo also noted that the water supply and plants closest to the building housing the lab are already compromised.
Part of the statement reads, “All boreholes, water supply, and plants 500 meters away from K-5A/2 Road 14 have been contaminated. Therefore, VGCPORA in conjunction with NDLEA will conduct a test of water supply to properties around K-5A/2. Road 14,”
The Estate Management also blamed some homeowners for not conducting proper background checks on new tenants, hence would make it mandatory.
“Property owners do not conduct background checks on tenants before lease of properties. Such act exposes other residents to risk. Henceforth VGCPORA would make background checks mandatory before issuing access cards,” part of the statement reads.
“Alcohol and drug misuse pose a threat to the health and safety of VGC and to the security of the community. We request that you join hands with us to make VGC a drug free community. If you see something, say something,” the VGCPORA stated.
