Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has called global attention to floods in Pakistan.

At least 33 million people have been affected by deadly flooding in Pakistan, the country’s climate change minister said on Thursday, CNN reports.

The President issued a statement on Saturday through his spokesman, Garba Shehu, extending sympathies for the deadly flooding in Pakistan, describing it as the worst natural disaster in the country’s history.

The floods have reportedly damaged half-a-million homes, killed above 1,000, and washed away hundreds of roads, bridges, and other infrastructure.

Nigerian President, Buhari said Pakistan and its population were in the thoughts and prayers of Nigerians as they confronted this humanitarian disaster of epic proportions.

He, therefore, appealed to the United Nations and other Aid Agencies to take urgent steps to assist people without shelter and food as well as the millions who required urgent humanitarian relief.
