Nigerian Secret Service Debuts Social Media Handles.
The Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria has announced the debut of its official social media handles on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
The agency has created these accounts to enhance public and stakeholder engagement, according to a statement released by the Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, Ph.D., fsi.
Prior to the debut of these handles, the DSS did not own or operate any official social media accounts. The agency, therefore, warns the public to be wary of any accounts that existed before now, as they were/are fake.
The official Twitter handle of the DSS is @OfficialDSSNG, its Facebook handle is OfficialDSSNG, and its Instagram handle is @OfficialDSSNG. The PRO’s Twitter handle is @DrAfunanya_PNA.
This development is expected to improve the agency’s communication and interaction with the public and stakeholders, as well as enhance transparency and accountability.
The DSS is Nigeria’s domestic intelligence agency responsible for providing intelligence and protection to the country’s top government officials and critical infrastructure.
