Shakira and her children, Milan and Sasha, are celebrating a unique Christmas in Dubai this year, far away from their father, Gerard Pique, following the couple’s divorce.

The singer shared a photo on Instagram showing her and her children in the desert, captioned “In the desert looking for serenity this Christmas.”

Shakira arrived in Dubai last Wednesday and plans to stay until December 30, when the children are set to reunite with their father for New Year’s Eve.

There have been media reports that the couple had a disagreement over the date of the children’s reunion, with Shakira planning to move to Miami with the children on January 5. Pique reportedly wanted to delay the reunion in order to celebrate the Three Kings parade with his children in Barcelona.
