In a landmark ruling, the Old Bailey Court in London has found Nigerian federal lawmaker, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, Beatrice, and a medical doctor, Dr. Obinna Obeta, guilty of a heinous organ-harvesting plot involving a London NHS hospital.

This is the first case of its kind in the UK.

According to reports by Daily Mail, the trio was convicted of conspiring to exploit a young man from Lagos for his body part.

Senator Ekweremadu, who is a former Deputy Senate President, and his wife were arrested in the UK and charged with trafficking a 21-year-old street trader from Lagos for organ harvesting with the intent of providing a kidney to their daughter, Sonia Ekweremadu.

Sonia, who is 25 years old, was to receive a kidney donation from the trafficking victim. However, she was cleared of the same charge this morning, causing her to burst into tears in court.

The private transplant was planned to take place at the Royal Free Hospital in London, and it was set to cost £80,000.

The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was promised £20,000 for his kidney but was only paid £3,000 after the operation.

This case has shocked the public, and the verdict serves as a strong warning against those who engage in such heinous crimes.

The convicted trio is set to be sentenced at a later date.
