Man Kills Girlfriend in Kaduna for Planning to Dump Him After Spending Money on Her.
The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a man who allegedly murdered his girlfriend.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Muhammad Jalige, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday, April 21, 2023. Jalige stated that the suspect was rescued as he was about to be lynched by a mob.
According to Jalige, the Command received a distress call on April 14, 2023, at about 21:30hrs that there was a mob action at NEPA Roundabout in Kaduna metropolis, where an unruly crowd was about to lynch a man. Operatives were immediately mobilized to the scene, and on getting there, they found the suspect lying unconscious and surrounded by a crowd.
Further information gathered revealed that the suspect attacked his girlfriend, who was a student of Old Command Secondary and Nursery School, Sokoto Road, Kaduna, with a machete and inflicted multiple degrees of injury on her face, arms, and hands.
During the attack, the man severed the victim’s left hand completely, alleging that he had spent a lot of resources on her and she wanted to dump him for another man.
The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, she was confirmed dead by a doctor on duty.
The corpse of the lady has been deposited at the same hospital for an autopsy.
The PPRO added that investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be charged in court for the crime.
