US Teenager Comes Back To Life After Being Declared Dead

On January 7, 2023, a 16-year-old boy named Sammy Berko, suffered a cardiac arrest while rock climbing at a gym in the US.

Despite receiving non-stop CPR from gym staff, emergency personnel, and hospital doctors, Mr. Berko was declared dead after two hours.

However, to the astonishment of medical personnel and his family, Mr. Berko regained vital signs and was found to be still alive after being declared dead.

Mrs. Jennifer Berko, Sammy’s mother, expressed her gratitude for her son’s miraculous recovery and shared that the medical personnel who witnessed the incident were equally stunned.

Doctors have reported that Mr. Berko suffered from an ischemic spine injury and short-term memory loss due to oxygen deprivation in his brain.

According to the parents, Mr. Berko’s cardiac arrest was most likely caused by a rare genetic disorder called catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. This disorder also claimed the life of Sammy’s younger brother Frankie in 2020, who died due to head injuries caused by many epileptic episodes.

The doctors who treated Mr. Berko have described his recovery as a “literal miracle” since patients who receive prolonged CPR typically suffer from severe brain injuries. The incident has left medical professionals bewildered and has raised questions about the limits of modern medicine.
