Burna Boy Expresses Discontent with Twitter Users Worldwide, Not Just Nigerians

International superstar Burna Boy has recently voiced his dissatisfaction with Twitter users, and it appears that his frustration extends beyond just Nigerians.

In a recent interview, Burna Boy candidly shared his sentiments about the platform, describing those on Twitter as “mad,” and he emphasized that this characterization applies not only to Nigerians but to Twitter users globally.

“I don’t like people on Twitter. I used to think it was just Nigerians on Twitter who were a bit crazy, but then I went to Kenya and saw the same thing.

“Afterward, I visited South Africa and realized it was no different there,” he explained.

Burna Boy also expressed his astonishment at the structure of American Twitter fandom, highlighting how American users form distinct groups.

Drawing a parallel to American rapper Lil Durk’s rap group known as “OTF” (Only the Family), he marveled at the tightly-knit communities that thrive on American Twitter.

“Then I went to America! Americans have their own groups; you can see that they are all connected. Similar to how Lil Durk has OTF, Twitter enthusiasts have their own groups. It’s like a global phenomenon,” he added, clearly taken aback by the worldwide influence of Twitter communities.

Burna Boy is not the only artist who has expressed reservations about Twitter. Mavin signee Boy Spyce has previously voiced his disapproval of Twitter influencers, suggesting that they are sometimes paid by musicians to promote certain narratives and artificially boost the popularity of songs that may not necessarily be exceptional.
