As Taylor Swift gears up for the final leg of her Eras Tour Concert at the Tokyo Dome, fans are buzzing about her anticipated return to the US for a special “date night” with partner Travis Kelce.

The Japan Embassy has stepped in to assure of a seamless journey back, ensuring she doesn’t miss watching Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.

Scheduled from February 3 to February 10, Taylor Swift’s Tokyo concert is set to conclude just days before Kelce takes on the San Francisco 49ers on February 12.

In a unique move, the Japan Embassy released a special announcement on February 2, outlining a suggested time frame for Swift’s travel plans to ensure a hassle-free return to the US.

The announcement prompted a sly remark from political scientist Ian Bremmer, who couldn’t resist a sarcastic comment on the privileges of fame. “I don’t think you can get more famous than ‘foreign embassy ensures she’ll make it back in time for date night,'” Bremmer wrote.

Social media users quickly joined the conversation, with one emphasizing the significance of entertainment and tourism to the global economy. Others defended the Japan Embassy’s move, describing it as more of an “assurance” rather than an “ensurance.”

Some users commended the embassy, calling it “pretty cool” and appreciating the factual information shared. One user broke down the logistics, stating, “Tokyo is a day ahead; she’s going to get to Vegas the night before the game. It’s not even going to be close.”

Responding to media reports, Japan’s Embassy in the United States confirmed its awareness of Taylor Swift’s travel plans and acknowledged the steps she needs to take to reach Las Vegas after the Tokyo concert. Despite the 12-hour flight distance and a “17-hr time difference” between Tokyo and the US, the embassy confirmed that if Swift departs from Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins.

In a final note, the Japan Embassy expressed confidence that after captivating fans in Japan, Taylor Swift would indeed make it to Las Vegas to cheer on the Chiefs during the Super Bowl, clad in their signature red attire.
