The 2023 Mr. Olympia competition has produced a winner in American bodybuilder Derek Lunsford who emerged victorious, claiming the top spot and a substantial prize of $400,000.
The event unfolded at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, and marked a significant achievement for Lunsford, who had secured the second spot in the 2022 competition.
This year, Lunsford faced formidable competition, particularly from Hadi Choopan, last year’s champion and renowned as “The Persian Wolf,” becoming the first Iranian to claim the coveted title at this prestigious event. The intense rivalry between Lunsford and Choopan added to the excitement of the competition.
During the pre-judging round, both Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan demonstrated their exceptional physique and skills, securing their spots among the top three finalists, and setting the stage for a fierce battle in the finals.

In addition to the top five finishers, several other remarkable athletes showcased their prowess in the highly competitive field. Hunter Labrada impressed with a sixth-place finish, while Michal Krizo secured seventh place.
Tonio Burton’s outstanding performance earned him the eighth place, and Regan Grimes claimed the ninth spot. Charles Griffen rounded out the top ten, highlighting the depth of talent and dedication on display at the event.
