US Woman Shoots Husband After Divorce Argument - Arrested on Multiple Charges

A heated argument over divorce took a tragic turn when a woman from Arizona, United States, shot her husband, resulting in her arrest on multiple charges.

Christina Pasqualetto, aged 62, has been booked for first-degree murder, aggravated assault, forgery, and theft, as reported by People Magazine.

The incident unfolded on September 20, when Christina Pasqualetto, residing in Gilbert, drove to her former home in Prescott, shared with her husband, Jon Pasqualetto.

The couple had been separated for months, and Jon was the sole resident of the house at the time.

Arriving at the house shortly before midnight, the couple engaged in a verbal dispute about their divorce. Ms. Pasqualetto expressed her reluctance for a divorce and, during the argument, fired a handgun at her husband, who was still in bed.

Jon Pasqualetto, 80 years old, sustained a gunshot wound to his wrist. He was initially taken to a nearby hospital and later airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital for further treatment. Thankfully, his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

The Prescott Police Department stated in a press release that the shooting occurred when Jon insisted on pursuing the divorce, and Christina responded by producing a handgun.

Following a physical altercation, Jon Pasqualetto managed to knock down his wife, causing her to release the weapon. This enabled him to escape the house and seek help at a neighbor’s residence, where he dialed 911 for emergency assistance.

Despite having changed the locks on the house before the incident, Jon informed the police that keys and “other items” were missing. Additionally, he reported that Ms. Pasqualetto had “stolen checks and forged a check for $10,000 about a week prior, which she cashed.”

Upon questioning by authorities, the 62-year-old admitted to forgery and theft after a deposit slip matching the transaction was discovered.

The legal proceedings against Christina Pasqualetto will proceed as authorities work to ensure justice is served in this case.
