Strategic Objectives: The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program focuses on three core objectives:

a. Specialized Support: Providing tailored support to scholars throughout their academic journey.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Mastercard Foundation scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to driving change in Africa, particularly in the areas of public policy and significant political, environmental, and societal transitions.
  • Exhibit a demonstrable need for financial assistance to pursue higher education.
  • Present a recommendation from your university.
  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or its international equivalent) by the following academic year.
  • Apply for a two-year Master’s program at one of Sciences Po’s seven Graduate Schools. Note that one-year Master’s, dual degree, or joint Master’s programs are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Attain a minimum of C1 level proficiency in either French or English, depending on your chosen program.
  • Have not obtained or be working towards a prior Master’s degree.
  • Be under 35 at the start of the graduate academic year.
