Iran Issues Warning to Israel Following Planned Retaliatory Strikes

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has issued a stern warning to Israel, cautioning that any perceived aggression will be met with a forceful response.

This comes in the wake of Iran’s unprecedented drone and missile attacks over the weekend, marking the country’s first direct assault on Israel.

The retaliatory strikes by Iran were sparked by an April 1 air strike on Tehran’s consulate in Damascus, an incident widely attributed to Israel. The attack destroyed the consular annex and claimed the lives of seven Revolutionary Guards, including two generals.

President Raisi emphasized Iran’s stance on self-defense during a call with Qatar’s Emir, reiterating that any action against Iran’s interests would provoke severe and extensive retaliation. He condemned the support extended to Israel by some Western governments, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to defending its sovereignty.

Meanwhile, Israeli armed forces chief Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi vowed to respond to the unprecedented attack, despite calls for restraint from world leaders. While most of the missiles and drones launched by Iran were intercepted, the Israeli military remains prepared to address the situation.

Iran has asserted that it provided prior notice to the United States and neighboring countries, issuing a 72-hour warning ahead of the “limited” attack on Israel. As tensions escalate in the region, the international community closely monitors the evolving situation, hoping to prevent further escalation and maintain regional stability.
