Israel Imposes Full Siege on Gaza: No Food, No Fuel

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has ordered a comprehensive siege on Gaza, an action that involves cutting off electricity and preventing the entry of essential supplies such as food and fuel.

This drastic move follows Israel’s declaration of war, signaling the potential for escalated conflict and a looming possibility of a ground assault into Gaza.

The intense bombardment in the region has forced over 120,000 people to flee their homes in Gaza. Israeli tanks and drones closely monitor openings in the border fence to prevent further infiltrations into their territory.

Since 2007, Israel and Egypt have maintained various levels of blockade on Gaza, stemming from Hamas’s seizure of power from rival Palestinian forces.

Israeli authorities, despite international concerns, have defended their actions, emphasizing their control over border communities.

Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the chief military spokesman, confirmed that there is no active fighting in the communities at this stage, but he cautioned about the presence of potential terrorists, urging heightened vigilance.

The conflict’s impact on civilians has been devastating, with casualties on both sides. Reports indicate that around 700 people have been killed in Israel, while nearly 500 have lost their lives in Gaza. The Israeli military has reported striking over 1,000 targets in Gaza, including significant parts of Beit Hanoun, a town located in the enclave’s northeast corner.

The situation remains highly precarious, and the consequences of the siege on Gaza are taking a severe toll on the civilian population.
