Surprising revelations about Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg’s extensive Hawaii compound have come to light, shedding light on unconventional features such as an underground bunker, a collection of 11 treehouses, and stringent security measures.

An investigation by Wired, based on building plans and insider information, has uncovered intriguing details about the 1,400-acre property.

The compound, comprising approximately 12 structures, including guest houses and facilities related to agriculture and ranching, is designed to house at least 30 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms, according to the report.

The primary residential components consist of two mansions, equipped with luxurious amenities like a gym, pools, sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, and a tennis court.

The most noteworthy feature of the residence, as per Wired, is an underground bunker connected to the two primary residences by a tunnel. The 5,000-square-foot shelter is reported to include living spaces, mechanical equipment areas, and an escape hatch, with an entrance resembling those found in bomb shelters, reinforced with concrete.

The entire compound is designed for self-sufficiency, featuring an 18-foot-tall water tank and pump system, along with established food production capabilities. The property includes an 18-foot-tall water tank and pump system, showcasing a commitment to self-sufficiency.

In a more whimsical addition to the estate, plans reveal a collection of 11 disk-shaped treehouses connected by rope bridges. This treetop retreat is designed to allow visitors to traverse between buildings while enjoying the natural surroundings.

Responding to inquiries, a spokesperson for Mark and Priscilla Zuckerberg emphasized their commitment to preserving the ranch’s natural beauty and supporting local communities. The couple rescinded an existing agreement that would have allowed for the division of the property into 80 luxury homes.

The vast majority of the land is dedicated to farming, ranching, conservation, open spaces, and wildlife preservation, including cattle ranching, organic ginger and turmeric farms, native plant restoration, and wildlife conservation initiatives.

The 1,400-acre property is enclosed by a 6-foot stone wall, and rigorous security measures are in place to maintain confidentiality. Hundreds of workers involved in the project are subject to strict non-disclosure agreements, preventing them from sharing information, taking photos, or communicating with other teams on-site. Violations of these agreements have resulted in workers being terminated from their positions.
