Woman Claims She Was Manipulated Through Facebook to Kill Her Sons.
A 32-year-old US woman, Tiffanie Ann Katherine Lucas, has been arrested and charged with the murder of her two sons, 6-year-old Maurice Baker Jr. and 9-year-old Jayden Howard.
The shocking incident unfolded in their family home in Kentucky, where the boys were found bleeding beside a gun and later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital on November 8.
During a court appearance, Lucas claimed that she was “manipulated through Facebook” leading up to the tragic incident.
Bullitt County Sheriff’s detective Richard Beahl, recounting his interview with the accused, disclosed that both boys were shot in the head, with four shots fired in approximately 30 seconds. Lucas insisted the shooting was an “accident” and expressed a belief that she must have been manipulated.
“I’m so stupid,” she conveyed to investigators, emphasizing that she “would never do anything like this unless someone manipulated me.”
Lucas asserted that the manipulation occurred through Facebook, the internet, or WiFi.
The judge declared Lucas a danger to others and set her bond at $2 million. Maurice Baker Jr.’s stepmother, Michelle Rice, rejected the notion of manipulation, asserting that such a horrific act couldn’t be attributed to external influence.
“Nobody can manipulate you to do such a horrific thing. That’s yourself,” Rice stated.
Describing the courtroom scene, Rice mentioned Lucas’s lack of emotion during the testimony. “She showed no emotion… She shows no emotion,” Rice expressed.
On November 8, a neighbor alerted the authorities upon finding the wounded boys next to a gun in a bedroom. Lucas collapsed in the neighbor’s driveway, revealing that her ‘kids were dying.’
Despite efforts to save them, the boys succumbed to their injuries a few hours later at a nearby hospital.
