Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg embarked on a mini-Asia tour, featuring intriguing experiences like sword-making and exploring mixed-reality headsets in Tokyo and Seoul.

Zuckerberg shared footage on social media of his “special afternoon learning about making katanas” with a sword master in Japan. The video showcased him hammering molten metal and testing a blade, adding an adventurous twist to his trip.

The 39-year-old tech mogul had initially been skiing in Japan with his family before delving into these unique experiences.

Following his sword-making adventure, Zuckerberg was scheduled to meet with Facebook developers in Tokyo on Monday and Tuesday.

From there, he was set to travel to South Korea, where he planned meetings with President Yoon Suk Yeol and leaders of tech giants Samsung and LG. South Korea, known for housing tech powerhouses like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, presents a promising landscape for technological innovation.

During his visit to South Korea, Zuckerberg was expected to engage in discussions with the CEO of LG Electronics regarding developing a mixed-reality headset. This move signals Meta’s strategic intent to enter the mixed-reality market and potentially compete with Apple’s Vision Pro.

Zuckerberg’s Asia tour sets the stage for potential advancements and collaborations in the digital realm.
