President Tinubu Undertakes Cabinet Reshuffle, Reinstates Niger Delta Ministry.

• President Tinubu Announces Cabinet Reorganization Ahead of Ministerial Inauguration.

In a strategic move just a day before the much-anticipated ministerial inauguration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his nod to the reassignment of Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

This decision was conveyed through a statement by the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale. Mr. Ngelale who further revealed that the Federal Ministry of Youth is slated for reassignment to an incoming minister-designate shortly.

Notably, the cabinet reshuffle involves ministers-designate originally assigned to the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine & Blue Economy, who have now been reallocated as follows:

(A) H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola has been redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy.

(B) Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is now the Honourable Minister of Interior.

(C) Hon. Sa’idu Alkali assumes the role of the Honourable Minister of Transportation.

This reorganization also extends to the Oil & Gas sector, with both Ministers of State now integrated into the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources with distinct designations:

(i) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri takes on the role of the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources.

(ii) Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo steps into the position of the Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.

President Tinubu’s directives further encompass the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management, which now assumes the title of the Federal Ministry of Environment.

“These changes will take immediate effect as per the President’s directives,” affirmed Mr. Ngelale, underscoring the swiftness and decisiveness of the administration’s reorganization efforts.
